04: Today on 3-5 ZoomKidz

Today's topic was the solar system! We showed one another our Solar System models learned about different parts of a solar system, including the number planets and the types/descriptions of planets learned. We looked at a poster of the solar system and shared our previous knowledge and observations with each other. After we watched a video on the solar system and learned more about the different planets and their position from the sun and discussed the sizes and other objects existing in the solar system. Following the video, we played some games that helped us understand some terms used while typically describing solar systems. We used a word search and planet riddles to ensure understanding of different planets. Lastly, we talked about the current missions NASA is started to understand more about the solar system. We ended our meeting by asking the kids for topics they are interested in doing during future meetings, what activities they would like to do, and if there were any further questions.
