Today's topic was Global Climate Change! All the members talked about an example of climate change and how they could possibly prevent it. As we moved on to the topic, Hithu and Sai discussed greenhouse gases and their impact on global warming. The kids learned a lot of new information about the current status around the world and shared their thoughts/feelings about a video explained by a kid about climate change. We learned about how the three greenhouse gases act as barrier for heat trying to leave the Earth. The students had so much fun and were really engaged. Then, we played 2 quizzes and 1 game to further understand the effects of global warming and have fun. One of the quizzes revealed what type of planet protector we were and another one was a nature trivia quiz. The last game was to stop a natural disaster, which was pretty hard to do. Before we ended, the meeting, we talked about how quarantine has affected the Earth in a better way since it was able to heal a little bit. We have to thank a lot of the frontline workers for keeping us safe. By introducing the homework assignment to write a thank you letter to frontline workers. The children were able to garner a better understanding of the current world. We ended off the meeting by talking about what we learned during this week.
