Today we learned about different types of card games! We started off by asking the kids what their favorite card games are and received a variety of different answers, ranging anywhere from "War" to "Monopoly Deal" (Richa and I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a Monopoly card game!). We proceeded by talking about a standard deck of cards, what it entails, and what can be done with it. The kids had fun guessing how many cards were in each deck, as well as how many cards were in each of the four suits! The specific games we learned about were "UNO," "Old Maid," and the "Memory Game." It was really interesting to hear about the variations that the kids played in the past. Finally, we finished off with a quiz pertaining to what playing card fits their personalities. Everyone thought it was really cool to see common cards, such as the King of Spades or a Joker, be personified.
