Today, we learned about The History of Clocks! As a pre-assignment, the kids were asked to define what a clock and what they knew already about clocks. The kids shared some of the cool knowledge they had already and learned from each other! After, we looked through the presentation and learned some cool facts about clocks as well as the timeline of clocks leading up to modern day clocks. We learned about Sundials, Stone hedges, Sand Glass Clocks, Candle Clocks, First Mechanical Water Clock, First Table Clock, First Mechanical Watch, First Electric Clock, First Modern Electric Clock, and First Atomic Clock. Then, we took a quiz(attached in slides) that revealed how much we knew about time and a lot of the questions really stumped the kids but they made it through with flying colors! To end of our session, we played a fun quiz that determined our future career based on our daily routine.
