Today we learned about flowers and plants! We started off by asking the kids what their favorite flowers and plants were and why they liked them so much, finding that they especially admired the beauty and aromas exuded from them. We then went into a lot of detail about 6 different types of plants/flowers, those being roses, hostas, sunflowers, mint, tulips and ivy. Among other facts, we discussed the general sizes they could grow to be, what sorts of soils they can grow in, the colors they are and special functions they have (for example, sunflowers have to ability to self-pollinate)! The session was finished off with a Buzzfeed quiz that determined which flower fit everybody's respective personalities, and a matching game with flower pictures!
