Today we learned about coral reefs! We began by talking about what types of animals live in reefs. Then we went on to an activity where the kids were given images of coral species and asked to come up with names of what they thought the coral was called. After learning about types of coral we learned more about the largest coral reef in the world, The Great Barrier Reef. Next, we watched two time lapse videos to see how coral reefs grow and how animals interact with them. Then we did a fun Buzzfeed quiz to see which aquatic creature matches with each kids personality traits. We ended the session by drawing our own coral reef using the zoom whiteboard feature.
