Today's topic was the water cycle! Before we got started with the lesson, we talked about what a cycle meant in the context of the water cycle. Many of the kids explained how it was a lot different than a bicycle! We then moved on to talking about their general definition of what the water cycle could and came very close to the actual definition. We then moved on to talk about a few of the different types of fishes. We talked about the different stages of the water cycle, including evaporation, condensation, transpiration, precipitation, and collection. As we talked more about each stages, all the kids learned what happens in evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection and transpiration. To sum up the lesson, we shared the fun fact that water existed from the beginning of time! To test our new found knowledge of the water cycle, we took a group quiz asking various fill in the blank, multiple choice, and true and false questions on each of the stages of the water. Another activity that we played allowed us to match up different stages of the water cycle to different items in a huge picture. We then moved onto a fun quiz that shows you the type of person you are (introvert, ambivert, and extrovert). After the quiz, we discussed what topics they would like learn in the future.
