In today's session, we learned about Kindness! First, we discussed one time each one of the kids has made someone smile or has been kind to someone! As expected, the kids had so many instances where they made someone smile or been kind to someone. Then we talked about what the golden rule was and shared some instances where the golden rule could be applied. Later, we talked about some positive and negative relatable examples in our lives of the golden rule. We then used our chart reading skills and figured out that being kind allows us feel happiness, get a warm feeling, be in a positive mood, and feel love for the things around you! We tested our knowledge on kindness by watching a short video about coloring the world with kindness and discussing what this video showed us. We expanded on the topic of kindness by learning about other aspects of kindness like empathy, care, and compassion. To use our newfound knowledge, we went through 6 hypothetical scenarios and discussed the wrongs and rights of each. Finally for some fun, we played a game and did a fun quiz. To end of the class, we discussed any questions we had and talked about any future topics that the kids wanted!
