Today during class we learned about money! We learned about coins and dollar bills, but specifically learned more about the amount of each coin. We first asked the kids what were the amount of each dollar bill you know. They answered with, one dollar, five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars, fifty dollars, and hundred dollars. We then moved onto coins. We talked about the different types of coins, pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. We talked about what each one was worth at first. Then we asked them how each of them looked like. Before we moved on further, we asked them questions about how much each coin was worth, to see if they remembered. After, we continued onto dollar bills, talking about how each of them looked. Then we showed them a video, a video about coins through a fun and catchy way they can remember the song and learn about coins. After that we asked them questions, for instance, "how much are one nickel and two pennies" and they would answer to the best of their abilities. Continuing, we played a money game, it would give us a bunch of coins, and we have to sort them out into piles. Through this game, they were able to identify the different types of coins and how much each of them are worth!
