In today's session, we learned about the Universe! We talked about how big we thought the milky way galaxy is! Then to refresh our memory on some fun facts, we tried to fill in the blanks of some universe facts. First we talked about what exists in the universe, including galaxies, stars, planets, dust clouds, and light. We then continued to talk about each one of the parts of the universe, which included the sun and planets. We expanded on the planets by talking about some facts about each one of them as well as the order they are in from the sun. Later, we talked about other parts of the universe like satellites and how there are natural satellites like the moon and artificial ones like Sputnik. Going more in depth, we talked about asteroids, meteoroids, and comets. Finally, by continuing the lesson with a song about the solar system and a quiz about what planet they could be depending on their personality. To end of the class, we discussed any questions we had and talked about any future topics that the kids wanted!
